Painting Nearly Completed

Pictures of the cinema room. All walls painted in Dulux Suede Effects. The colours are more like those in the top photo and even then the ceiling is darker than it looks but currently have large floodlight on which makes it hard to get a photo with true colours. The white wall is where the screen will be. There will also be low level - glass door cabinet right across the bottom to house all the components. The upright pillars will house the speakers and there is a recess behind the front corner ones to accomodate electric curtains.

Leadlight

A collection of photos of the leadlight that has been installed so far. Top photo is the bay window in the front lounge. The next photo is the main bedroom. The small window is in the front door so that is all the windows at front of house with the similar design. The final leadlight is a full length window in the bathroom. I still have to make a fairly large skylight that will sit over the island bench in the kitchen.

Finishing the Gyprock

Spent most of this weekend trying to finish putting up all the gyprock. Made the speaker boxes for front speakers. Im not too sure that our plasterer Tony (pictured) will be too excited when he discovers that he has to redo some work down in the basement

Basement Cinema Room

Well the cinema room is progressing well. Our son Tim demanded that we put in all the fake pillars and beams. In the cinema area the beams are finished with a cornice that when painted will help to "seperate " that section of room from the pool table and bar are which is on the raised floor level. The columns will house centre speakers and rear speakers as well as sconce lighting. All lighting will be controled throughout the whole house by Clipsal C-Bus so we have included pelmet for the electric curtain. A touch screen juke box in bar area will be able to be viewed on a TV screen over the bar or it can be wiewed on the projector screen. Whilst all the prewiring has been done I still have to make the front speaker housings as well as the component cupboard. But I think it will all be worth the effort!!

Its Time To Gyprock

Now he may look professional on those stilts but that is our son Tim who came home for a week to help me put the gyprock in the basement cinema room. We were certainly glad that we had chosen to load all the necessary sheets down in basement before we poured the top slab.
